A Return to Honda
Hey everyone from San Diego, so the last time I've owned a Honda was back in 04. I had a 2nd gen CR-X and 99 SI Civic, which was stolen... after that was when I got into rear-wheel drive cars. More specifically the AE86. I owned 3 over the past 13 years. None of them had significant work, I was always on a low-income like many others. Then things like life happened... I got married, joined the navy, had kids, got out the navy, went back to school and now I'm in a position to seriously build a car that I can track.
I still have my 3rd AE86, which will be for sale shortly, but it's not currently running. I plan to spend the couple of dollars to get it back and running and then try to sell it. Those cars are quickly becoming more valuable. I decided, that while the AE86 is a fun car, I can't bring myself to turn it into a track car for a few reasons. It's older (than most Honda's on here), the aftermarket is getting better but no where near Honda's, harder to replace panels and require quite a bit of money to make competitive. 4ag motors are notorious money pits. With that being said, I've recently been following the Vtec Club USA series and I desperately want to be a part of it.
So sometime this year (later half) I plan buying a CD6 Accord and competing in the N2 class. I have plans to use the H22A and transmission (from an Euro-R) and then working towards building a good suspension setup. And once to a decent track spec, I'm going to jump on the JTCC fanboy wagon and use the Mugen-Castrol livery.
Anyways, if you got some pointers for me please inform me.
Thanks,
Chris
