I was going to install a decat on my del sol and I noticed that on the back of the decat there is a sensor which is a little to far from the holes on the decat and I cant hook it up. If I were to cut the wire and extend the wire by like a foot would it work as normal? Its a single wire sensor.
Also is it the same thread size as the 02 sensor on the header? I can't find an exact pic of it. But Ive found a pic of where the sensor is to indicate the exact location. Its the one on the left because my JDM sol doesn't have the sensor in the middle.
if you're talking about eliminating the converter and still using the secondary o2, dont. youll have a check engine light. 2 choices: plug the hole in the high flow, and leave the sensor hanging or use a spark plug non fouler.
If it's a JDM Del Sol and the sensor you speak of was screwed into the cat it's most likely the temp sensor for the cat. North American cars don't have this so it's unlikely you'll see many users here familiar with them. You should be able to extend the wiring without any issues.
Just as an FYI, unless there's something actually wrong with the cat you're not really going to gain anything by removing it, it will however sound raspy and tend to smell like exhaust. Dyno testing shows a 2hp difference between a test pipe and stock cat and a 1hp difference between a test pipe and a high flow cat.
