I recently bought a 97 prelude sh and on the way home, the engine blew and there is a hole in the block. I wanted to get another engine and I had no idea what engine I and put in there and how to do it. Should I rebuild? Swap? the current engine in it is a H22a4.

 

cannot really rebuild it if theres hole in your block...

so your options are - get new SH block or swap JDM H22A or find USDM engine there

see that if you want to keep your ATTS you need SH block/engine or otherwise you need to get swap engine with (base) transmission

 

Yup, pretty much you want to find an SH engine, or a jdm type-S swap that has the ATTS setup on the back, instead of the normal transmission and half shaft.

Otherwise, you can swap in a non-SH and transmission setup, but you lose the ATTS system, and the lights will always be on, unless you find a way around that.
