Default incompatible low beams

I purchased replacement Sylvania halogen low beam headlamps in Sept 2015 for my 2006 Honda Odyssey and replaced them myself with ease, since it's an easy job. Suddenly Saturday 1/30/16 (16 months later) the low beams quit working. When I switched lights on, the dashboard indicator worked, the tail lights worked, and the high beams work, but no low beams. I checked all fuses and they were good. Thought it might be the switch, but then realized it must be good since the tail lights come on as well as the dash indicator. Took it to the dealership and just received a call from them stating that my after market Sylvania headlamps are incompatible and they've replaced them with OEM. I have never heard of replacement headlamps being incompatible, esp since they worked fine for 16 months. Anyone???

That's so strange. I haven't heard halogen bulbs being incompatible unless they are of the super cheap low quality variety.
