Hey all,

I have a 2000 Civic and if I am accelerating or braking I have no issues or signs of engine knocking. If I am stopped and idling there is no engine knocking. But when I am at speed without braking or accelerating I hear a loud knock coming from the front left of the engine compartment (if your sitting in the driver seat). Any help is appreciated!

 

The sound is most likely related to your suspension. First guess would be a bad wheel bearing.

 

Get up to speed, take your foot off the gas and put the transmission in neutral. If there is still the noise it is not from the engine.
