Hello: I'm trying to help my (handicapped) sister out with her car. I know that the #3 spark plug wire is bad/defective, so I went down to Honda and purchased a new set. I'm used to buying a new coil wire whenever I replace the wires on my cars, but the parts salesman told me that the coil wire is no longer offered for sale, and steered me to Oriellys Auto Parts. Unfortunately, they were not able to help me, either.

Can anyone please tell me where I may be able to find this? A source/part number would be most appreciated.

An EX (US Model, by the names of the parts stores I can assume you are in the US and not Canada) came OE with an "internal" coil - so no coil wire as it is inside the dist cap

If you have an external coil, ask them to look for one on a DX or LX model.....something like this: 32723-P0J-A00

 

is this a 4 cylinder or 6?

if you are looking for the V6 version it is Honda Part number 32723-P0G-A00.

If you were looking up parts for the 1996 EX F22B1, this engine is listed as having an internal coil and would not have a listing for the center ignition wire (coil to cap). If you do have an external coil on a 4 cylinder Accord. The part you are looking for would be found under the 1996-97 Non VTEC F22B2 (DX) parts list. The center ignition wire for a 2.2L I4 is Honda part number 32723-P0J-A00.
