05 civic tranny problems
Hey guys, I'm new here. I have been working on my 05 civic ex with the 1.7. I replaced the transmission in it years ago for a junk yard tranny bc of the isb making noise. Not knowing any better at the time I just swapped it out. Well with a 90k mile junk yard tranny in it and a newly installed short shifter in it, needless to say I ruined 2nd gear in it pretty soon after. My wife has been driving it for the past few years without 2nd gear. So, I now need this car as a daily driver and figured I'll replace the isb in the original one and through it back in the car. Got the bearing in it without issue until I put the case back together. Of course after I sealed it up I decided to run down the gears and check everything was functioning properly. I made a quick and easy adapter to put a cordless drill on the input shaft to spin it. So, when it should be in neutral it looks to be still spinning the dif at the rate I'd assume to be 2nd gear. I did have an issue with putting the gear sets back into place when putting everything back in. Thinking I maybe misaligned a synchro. I'm wondering if anyone has or has access to a TSB showing exact alignment of the synchros in this transmission. Any help would be much appreciated.
