Default Fork In The Road

So hey guys, hope everything is good.
I'm relatively new to the forum and new to cars to be honest. But if you've seen my other posts you know I have so much to learn. Hopefully, after this thread I'll be good. I have different options I'm thinking about taking up so maybe you guys can help.

This is what I would like to do, minor performance mods (full bolt ons) and cosmetic mods like wheels and all that. I DO NOT go to the track nor racecars.

With that said, I own a 2004 Civic coupe, with it's engine I cant really do bolt ons because I was told it wouldn't make a difference. So I became interested in Integras. But that brought more questions, like going with an LS or GS-R? For my needs, does it matter which I go with? And how do you feel about buying cars with swapped engines that don't reflect the miles on the odometer? Also, the idea of doing a b20 swap.

I'd like you guys to point me to either guides or other threads that may give me the answers I want. Or feel free to throw your 2 cents in.

Anyone who may have answered my questions before please don't think I disregarded your opinons.

Sell the 04 Civic (because that engine/ chassis is worthless to modify) and find a later model GSR - like a 98-00. A GSR is generally nicer than the LS equivalent (leather seats, sunroof, etc) and already have the VTEC head. If you buy an LS, one day in the not too distant future, you'll end up converting to LS/VTEC anyway, so save the headache and get the GSR up front.

I had a 99 GSR (bought it back in 05), so I know that chassis well. I had mine as a DD for a year or so, then boosted the stock engine, then built another engine and changed turbo setups over the course of 5 years. When I sold it (to a buddy in '10), it was at ~400whp on e85. They're fun little cars and can be made fast for very little $$. One day i'll build another one, but that was my last Honda. I've had STi's since.

Where do you live OP?

There are many areas of the country where you cannot DD a GS-R without it getting stolen. As fun as those cars are, more often than not, those cars are much more trouble than they are worth.

Didn't think I'd find another United fan here 😂

I was thinking the same thing about my car in terms of the engine/chassis. GS-R hard to find, at least at the moment, unless I want to go out of state for it, which I don't mind, depending on distance. I actually intended to buy one within a month or so but i think I should probably hold off on it until the summer time. Hopefully there will be some more on the market. And I'll gain more knowledge on them.

@Testify I live in Atlanta, Georgia by the way. And all the GS-R I've come acroso are not true in thevery sense that they only have the transmission.
