Default Who wants to play "What's that noise?"

Ive got a 1996 JDM CRV that is making a new engine noise. It sounds like a weird gurgling to me.
Its got plenty of coolant. Ive been driving it for days up hill and down hill so I dont see how there could be air in the system.
Im kinda stumped on this one.

Let me know what you guys think.

I'll play.

But I had trouble determining whether it was external or internal.

Looking external is cheaper than pulling the engine and looking inside so I say look at the belts, pulleys, and external moving parts to see if it is something loose or hitting a moving part.

Did the noise change with RPM?

Was there an RPM that it went away?

That's the best I can do right now sir.

I first noticed the noise when topping off the coolant the other day.
I disconnected the upper radiator hose and cleaned the corrosion around the connections and then replaced the hose and filled the radiator back with coolant.
I thought maybe some air was trapped in the system. If so, its being awfully stubborn.
My other guess would be the water pump since the noise seems to increase as the RPMS increase and so forth.
Ive never changed the belts on a CRV. It looks like a nightmare.

Did you run the heater at full heat and on when you added the coolant?

My understanding is a valve is opened to allow warm coolant to flow through heater core thus possibly lowering coolant level.

No I did not. To be honest Im not even sure the heater works. So many vehicles in this tropical climate have it removed or bypassed.
Ill definitely check tomorrow.

Turned on the heater this morning. Discovered the heater does in fact work.
And just like that no more noise. I cant believe I made such a rookie mistake.
Oh well, thanks for assist sir.
