NeW sHiT: AEM V2 Cold Air Intake...
I just saw this on http://www.speedoptions.com It's a new CAI from AEM. IT uses a diffrent design for better performance. It says that it outperforms ANY CAI on the market, INCLUDING their own 1st & 2nd GEN CAI. Here is the link,

Here is what it claims: "...the AEM V2 is able to create more horsepower and torque-across the entire rpm range-than any other air induction system." It doesn't really claim to make more high-end horsepower. I'm not trying to say the top-end horsepower is the end-all be-all of performance products. Just making an observation. I would like to see some dimensions of the product. Not that I will be buying one of these. I'm happy with my current aem itr cai.
If that's what I think it is, it's crap. Larger piping then it instantly decreases in diameter before the TB. Unless the piping on the inside is smoothly tapering, it's crap.

how much hp does a cold air intake give you anyways? 5? 7 at the wheels?
if oyu already h ave one it's not worth it to get a newer one. it cant be that much better. it's a ******* metal tube that sucks in air.

Agreed. It sounds to me like a big crock of **** too. As far as "name brands" Comptech's IceBox is the best, but that is simply because of the design and the fact that nobody has made a copy cat IceBox yet.
An intake itself, no matter what kind you get, will not be a big power adder, so the brand doesn't matter. You're probably a little more generous than I would be in your horsepower claim. 5-7 at the wheels? I would think only 2-3 if you are lucky.

Bottom line is.... if you already have a CAI, then don't waste your money for 1-2 wHP gain over your current CAI. If you DON'T have a CAI, then you might want to wait and see how much power this new AEM CAI will give and then decide whether to get it or not...

Ouch. Well only right that I make fun of the slow er guys and rightfully get flammed back for my all to easy to bash auto trans and wing and 17" wheels....
Its ok if you don't like the way my car looks
If I didn't say the turbo thing I'm sure someone would have, thats all.... ok enough of my pointless reply.
