Hi guys,
I recently bought a 1999 civic SE 4 doors sedan with 1.6 liter engine and 250thousand km. The thing is that it is doing a funny noise that I haven't heard in any car before. It happens in the morning (cold weather) and specially when I'm between 100 and 110km/h (about 60 to 65mph). I recorded in low speed and I'm posting the link of the video bellow. If someone already had this issue before, please help me. I have no idea what can be.
I tried to unplug the plastic that comes before the air filter, but it worked for one day and the sound came back.

There's so many noises in that video. Point out at what second(s) the noise appears. Is it the high pitched noise or the thumping noise?

 

Sure,
It's on 0:11 , 0:21 - 0:22 and 0:39 to 0:45. Sometimes it does frequently and sometimes it doesn't show.
This morning I noticed when I turned on the car, drove 200km and didn't do anything.
Last saturday I drove 300km and between 100 and 110km/h it was loud.

The high pitch squeals? Come and go. Have u check belts tension? Or the ac, alt pulley?

 

It's funny, because there is the noise of the belts that it is very odd and is doing when it's cold, but this one is very different, looks like something with air and rpm!! looks like someone is whistling

 

What brand belt? If its Goodyear gatorback belt, get it out of the car. Those will make the whistling sound. Get banco (OEM) belts for all 3.. I would replace all 3 if its old and never been changed.

 

Yeah, I'm sure that it was repaced, it is now with 250 thousand km (155thousand miles).The old owner told me that I should replace with 280. I didn't know that this belt could do that kind of noise! Tomorrow I'll double check the brand of the belt!
