I have an 08 EX-L with nav and the backup camera died, it was getting fuzzy then got completely blurry and is now just a black screen. I called the dealer and a new camera from Honda is a $1000. Question is does any company make and adapter to use an aftermarket camera and hook it up to the factory headunit/wiring? I tried looking but couldn't find anything.

 

Ebay has some used OEM cameras from $100 with free shipping.

Perhaps before looking to replace the camera part, I would recommend looking at the connector between the wiring and the camera itself in the lift gate. It could be a loose connector or some corroded pin in the connector that could be cleaned. I found a similar problem that someone had in another forum related to a Honda with a backup camera issue that might be helpful (see the link below). If anything, it might help you identify a few troubleshooting approaches to determine if it is really the camera that needs to be replaced.

I had the camera out and the connections were clean and tight in the connectors(unfortunately). It was worse after rain so I thought/was hoping the camera was just getting some moisture in it and I'd be able to seal it but it never helped. Thanks for the link though.
