Heat Shield after Header Replacement
I'm looking to get a aftermarket header for my LS and heard stories of the heat increasing significantly in the engine compartment. I have a short ram intake which would also negatively suffer in this instance.
Can the original heatshields be reattached or are there aftermarket alternatives to insultate the headers from heat. I'm not so much concerned with looks as I am with functionality.
Thanks!

to answer your question, no you cant attach the
stock heatshield with aftermarket headers.
some people wrap headers with some material i forget
what its called. yeah short air ram intake sucks when the engine
bay is hot, especially during the summer

black insulation? most definitely.
is there a JDM 4-2-1 header that's worth upgrading to or would it be the same as what i have in my LS already?
