1990 accord lx tsu and loose wires

Ive got a 90 accord my temp gauge doesnt work i know i need to replace my temp send unit but there is loose wires around it where someone cut them and i cant find out where one red wire goes

the sending unit only has one wire

That ones plugged in. Theres a loose red wire on the wiring harness and i cant figure out where it goes
