Quick disclaimer, I'm not at all knowledgeable about Odysseys, let alone the newer ones. So any help/suggestions/recommendations are very much welcome.

The situation is this, a while ago my sister bought a 2006 Odyssey EX-L with I believe 175K+ miles, and within the last 2 weeks the automatic transmission gave out (imagine that), so now I'm looking for one to replace it and I found one for a 2011 EX-L, 5 speed automatic, for $350 with 66K on it.
Now my question is, will the transmission from an '11 EX-L work on the '06 EX-L, or is it different in some way? I haven't had the chance to look at the engine in my sister's Odyssey, and I don't know for sure what engine was in the '11 EX-L, all I have to go off of is This wiki page that says from 2005+ all EX-L and Touring Odysseys had J35A7s, so I can only assume they're compatible...

Thanks in advance, I just wanted some confirmation that it would or wouldn't work, as I hate it when I buy something that ends up being not what I needed.

 

Can you search a honda parts site to verify if the parts are compatible across those 2 yrs?
