Can you swap the 90-91 Hatch Doors to an 89? Understand the issues with the belt, "seems" pretty straightforward on that front--remove them. The question becomes--what other mods have to be done to adapt the newer doors to the older model 88-89 cars? Will the 88-89 door panels fit up without issue? Anything else to watch out for? 88-89 moldings fit up?

Honestly, it's not worth the headache. You will have to modify the door and jam and you will not be happy with it at all. Just get the correct doors.

 

since 89 and 90-91 civics have the same door mounted seat belts, i dont think theres any issue. what issue are you thinking? why would you remove the seat belts??
