Long time viewer but first time poster. I've been dealing with a water leak in the passenger footwell area for a few months now. I notice that after a heavy rainfall or washing my car the footwell gets completely soaked, creating a bad odor in the car.
I've had the chance to pull back the carpeting and was able to remove the blower motor as well to get a better view. After completing some searches, I believe I'm having a similar problem as this: https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-...cabin-2168939/.
I poured water directly into the cowl which causes the water leak. Pouring water directly over the windshield also results in this water leak.
I believe it might be leaking from a multi-point contact between the seams, maybe closer up between the dashboard and windshield. I haven't removed the dashboard yet and was wondering if this would be worthwhile.
Has anybody experienced this on the CB7s?

Usually there is a rubber gasket that goes around the perimeter of the windshield along with a lower gasket, then the trim bits. Cheap/Lazy/Hack windshield replacement shops will forego the gasket and just use urethane directly on the windshield. This will cause a leak. You will probably need to pull the rest of the dash and then the windshield itself to see how bad the damage really is.
I ended up removing the passenger side fender to get a better view. I saw that around where the cowl drains there is significant rust and when water is poured directly onto the rust it causes water to gush into the cabin.
Question is how is it possible to access this area and to fix the issue? Cut the metal and then weld? Or use some type of sealer?
