i thought they r supposed to, but the dont.......help please......

no i guess im just bitching because loads and loads of people saaid it would work and it doesnt the crank will not spin with d17 rods in a d16 block.

Check the main journal specifications on the D16Y8 block in the FSM and then check the main journal specifications of the D17A1.

If they are not the same size, then you will run into major problems.

Instead of relying on third party information, you should probably do your own research before you go ripping into a motor blindly. At least then you can be fairly confident of what challenges you will be facing before you get started.

You're more than likely going to be the "someone". This is not done as often as you think. Most of what you've researched is theoretical. Now that you'll know the truth, you can post that and positively contribute to the forum, instead of complaining of what's not here. .. That's what experience is all about!
