Default Oil change question

94 Civic dx 16 valve non vtec. What oil viscosity do y'all use and what brand? Also how many quarts of oil for an oil change? I'm going to be switching to full synthetic. I'm sorry if this is a repeat post, I'm new to this forum and this vehicle is new to me. Thank you!

I use 5w30 mobil 1 full synthetic high mileage, with a k&n filter & some lucas oil stabilizer, 3 1/2 quarts is what is called for so buy 4 quarts & a decent filter. bosch, & purolater is also good brands, I'd recommend 10-30 for summer time if you live in the south!

ah man i hear that! Florida here so it's basically iraq weather all year long haha mobil 1 is good stuff I've been running it for 3 years now without a problem you should be squared away with that set upalso if the car is new to you it's a good time to also change the transmission fluid all you need is a 3/8 ratchet & a 17mm it's literally 2 bolts and a good thing to check while your at it, i go with penzoil syncromesh and a long plastic tube about 1/2'' wide to fill it that'll take about 3 bottles but it's good to have peace of mind to know its fresh fluids
