Hello guys I have a problem with my dc2 I've put a b18c4 into it with a race tech tdo5 turbo kit and I've got a strange problem with it slightly misfiring on cold start up but when it comes off the choke and is warmed up it doesn't misfire,so far I've change rotor arm distributor cap and plugs any help is much appreciated

 

Check your spark plugs gaps. Too narrow will cause bridging from carbon build up and too wide will cause the boost to blow out the spark. Are you running #8 race plugs by any chance?

 

I have new ngk bkr8eix gapped to 0.5 mm,I forgot to mention it's still running a baseman with boost cut at 0.2 bar of boost and rev limit set to 5500

 

i notice you are in the UK like me. I have the same thing on a DC2 and it seems to be moister inside the dizzy. Not sure if its from not being used during winter or just our lovely weather. If you can swap the dizzy off a friend and see if that cures it, or just take yours off and leave it somewhere nice and warm for a while with the cap off. Check for cracks on the cap and carbon dust on the inside causing it to arc.

Mine went away when warmed up but a different dizzy sorted it.

 

hi thanks for the reply i have tried another dizzy as well as rebuilding the one I have with a new cap rotor and igniter still no joy, I'm thinking it may be the base map I've got
