Hello, I'm very new to this forum and need some advice on an issue that had just come up on my car.

I've just purchased a 2014 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6MT and I've just owned it for barely 6 hours and today the enginr light came on out of no where and the car started revving upto 2000 rpms while in neutral. Vehicle is used with 42,000kms on it and I am very concerned. Ive just picked it up and its already starting to have problems. Im asking for any advice or suggestions as this is my first manual transmission car. Thank you!!

 

Get the code(s). Everything would be a guess without knowing what the code(s) are.

Could be as simple as a miss fitted air filter/tube to something major.

I would think the place you bought it from (assuming a company not an individual) would work with you on resolving the issue.

 

Thank you for you're reply. How do I find out the "codes"? And yes, rhe vehicle was purchased from a Honda Dealership.

 

Best to have a "code reader", in the US most parts stores will read them for free....I can tell you are not in the US so other options would be needed. You can purchase simple code readers for not that much, search e-bay, amazon or places for prices.

If you just bought the thing from a dealer, take it back to the right away or at least call/e-mail them and document the issue you are having. I would think the dealer would take care of this issue since you just got the car from them.

 

Yes, you're assumption is correct. I am residing in Ontario, Canada. I will email them today and see what the issue is because this is a very terrible example they are setting for their vehicles and dealership. Thanks again for your quick replies, cheers!
