Default B16 (SI) VSS in TYPE R?

Would a 99-00 Civic SI speed sensor work in a 98 spec Type R 4.7 Trans? Mine is broken and i need a replacement. I can get a SI sensor from Honda for about half the price of the Acura OEM unit.

I want to say the EM1 one would work but its all plastic unit compared to the Integra VSS that has a metal base.

Is the metal base Integra VSS superior to the plastic Civic unit?
