Default civic 2009 1.8L radiator fans + AC clutch engage for 5 secs every minute

Hello Guys!

Have a weird issue with Honda Civic 2009 1.8L sedan. When the climate fans are on without the AC just the heat - radiator fans turn on and the AC clutch engages for 5-10 seconds every 2 minutes when at a red light or idling. This behavior doesn't reproduce when the climate fans are off. The coolant temperature doesn't get high at all and this behavior happens after a cold start as well. Any help is much appreciated.

If the defroster is on and the fans are on the ac will automatically turn on. The ac works better to defog the windshield so they made it standard. If you want to turn it off so it doesn't do that there is a procedure. You can find it on youtube.

Clutches don't go bad very often, normally it's the gap that needs to be adjusted via adding shims or the pulley bearing needs to be replaced when it starts making noise.

That is a clutch gap problem , most of the time sometimes it is an open circuit in the magnetic coil.
