I have a 1996 Honda accord ex. My dash cruise comes in but sometimes it takes deleted on of and pressing steering column button to activate cruise. Or hitting steering wheel a few times. How can I fix this

 

I have a 1995 accord EX. I have RESUME/accel, CANCEL, and SET/decel on my steering wheel (though text has mostly flaked off) and a CRUISE button on the left side of the dash near the heat vent. Do you have these same buttons? Is my understanding that you are having difficulty SETTING cruise, but no problems deactivating it?

I can't really answer your question; however, I have an issue with my cruise control (wouldn't shut off!!) and if I come across something in the process of reading that might be helpful to you, I'll pass it along.

 

i had a similar issue. turned out the cable reel plug under the steering column
wasnt fully connected so it was just bouncing around. d'oh! 8(
