Default Honda Accord 2013 - How long do I go between oil changes?

Hello. I used to have a Honda Accord 2005, and I generally had to have an oil change every 5,000 miles.

But, I see the 2013 version is different...the guy at Jiffy Lube told me it only takes "full" synthetic oil and to have it changed every 7,500 miles. I distrust the number given by auto shops though since they have an incentive for me to come back soon.

So let me ask here, is it 7,500 or can I go 10,000 miles before changing?

I normally change my oil every 3000-5000(if I get lazy) miles , I don't trust anything with Jiffy Lube in it or what they have to say, so I wouldn't really take what he says too serious. I believe if you look in your owners manual it should also tell you about what milage is recommended to do your oil changes. And no, I would never wait 7,500 miles to change my oil.

When the oil life monitor says to?

If you don't trust it, change the oil when it reaches 20-30%. Mine reaches ~5000 miles usually around 30%.

I guess you can change the oil every 7.500 if you don't drive the car at all.

Modern synthetic oils can go well over 10k. Modern low tensioned ringed engines.....not so much.

However 7k is a good safe number. It is the OCI I use for my 3 personal vehicles and have for over 10 years. ('03 RSX-S ' 05 TL and '05 FX35)
Also was the OCI for my old H22 Accord.

I initially went 7k with Mobile 1. No good. Burned quickly in all of my cars. I then switched to Pennzoil Platinum and have use that ever since.
