Greetings. Finally came crawling back to the Honda world with a 00 Civic EX. Ran into a weird problem where the engine lost power, idled rough and wouldn't rev past 5k. Did a fair amount of searching and could only find suggestions to check the ECU, distributor, timing and vtec solenoid.

I checked all of these while going through the car and determined that they were all in working order. Well, long story short, it ended up being a clogged cat. No check engine light and none of the classic signs of a clogged cat (misfire, sulfur smell, etc.)

So I figured I would post this up in case anyone else runs into this problem since I found numerous threads with the symptoms I was experiencing and no true resolution to the problem.
