Speedometer bounces to 0
My car is a 94 Accord EX. I noticed today that the speedo will occasionally bounce quickly to 0 then back to the normal speed. It only does this once in a while. I am thinking possibly VSS or the speedo itself. I would appreciate any opinions.
might also be ignition switch according to this:

mine was looking pretty black, cleaning helped but finally bought a new one for $40 or so.

When it bounces to 0 check of cruise control works. If it works then the cluster is likely going out. If the car is actually dying when the tach goes to 0 then the ignitor is failing.
It's the speedo that bounces, not the tach. The tach works, but is not accurate.
There is no roughness or change in performance. The only thing I notice is the needle bounces one time then resumes as normal. I think if it was the ignition there would at least be a quick pause of something. Maybe with the VSS too. I have the infamous tachometer problem, so maybe the whole cluster needs replacing. I tried "googling" it but it seems that nearly anything can cause a problem. I am hoping that someone has just this issue and has found the fix.

I had the problem, I replaced the ignition switch and my battery cables, and for the time being it has gone away. I still have the issue where my Speedo and Odo are off by a fixed factor, but Im not sure if thats more due to the fact I replaced the circuit card in my wagon speedo since it died totally with one probably calibrated for 14" tires and Im running the standard 15"

You could just pull the cluster and have someone resolder it. If the speed sensor is going out it will normally throw a code 17 and the steering assist will stop working which will mean as you get over 40 mph or so it will be super easy to turn the steering wheel which will be kinda dangerous cause you will be used to the steering stiffening up which is what steering assist is designed to do at higher rates of speeds.
Actually I have a cluster with about 30,000 miles on it. I have just been too lazy to put it in. It is a JDM and reads in km. Why? I just wanted one. Guess it's time for the swap.
