1992 Honda accord radio problem
New to this website and appreciate the opportunity to ask questions and learn new things.
The stock Honda radio in my 1992 Accord, operates intermittently. The radio can work fine for hours but can also not have any sound for seconds or minutes at a time, the sound simply cuts out. The cut outs can go for hours and then stop and back to normal operation.
This is an intermittent problem, sound on and off and on and.... and then works fine.
Does not change relative to weather or temperature and does not have any relationship to bumps, turns or moving any other switches either on the radio or other automotive functions. The problem is same whether the car is moving or sitting.
The Antennae works properly.
So, could this be an internal radio problem and easily repaired or a I need something new? or?
Hope I was clear in describing the problem and appreciate feedback.
Thank you.

Does it only happen when listening to the radio, or does it occur when listening to a cassette as well? I would try to isolate the problem. If sound cuts out from both sources I would pull it out and make sure wiring and connections are good. If you can't find an issue with wiring or wiring harness I would see if you can get another stereo at a junkyard for $20-$30 and hope the issue was a bad solder/connection on your deck.
