D2 SL coilovers or Koni/gc?
Looking to purchase a suspension set up within a couple days. I want to go low. I have read a lot of great reviews about the Koni yellow and ground control set up, but does it go low? Does anyone have pics of the Koni/gc set up all the way as low as it will go?
I had an 03 si with ground control. It wasn't low enough. I ended up replacing them with d2s. The ride wasn't very smooth. A bit harsh but the car sat low enough and looked great. I was more happy with the d2s.
My budget is about a grand, I want something that goes low, handles great, and rides pretty smooth.
Any advice, experience, or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You will need the koni extended top hats and a set of helper springs. That's really what makes a car ride low and well
Last time I checked ebay, they sell replica extended top hats. I'd just get those.

Helper springs are smaller springs that go beneath the primary spring, they provide viruslly zero spring rate, they're there to prevent the main spring from jumping out of place.
When you lower the car, sometimes you'll jack it up and you'll see that the spring will have a gap between the perch and or the top hat. The helper fills that gap so you don't crash down on the main spring. I don't know how much you plan to lower it, but you might not need these. It's just a spring that's hard to mess up.You can find them on ebay.
I have two on the rear of my crx assembly
I'd wait on these because you might need a taller one, or not at all
coilover helper spring&spring seat, sold as a pair 2"long, I.D. 62.5mm, 2KG | eBay

I think you have to double up on bump stops. The extended top hots let the shock be at it's optimal position, but I would be concerned if it goes to high your tire or upper control arm will smash into your fender. So I'd check for clearance before throwing out your old bump stop.
