Alternator belt came off. Need some help... 03 civic ex
My alternator belt came off along with a lot smoke of course..
So before this happened i notice the car was having rough starts and engine was overheating, alternator was still charging and no flickering lights or low voltage on battery was ever present. did notice a change in sound when the compressor engaged as it is driven by this belt also. at first i suspected a bad alternator belt but now im having seconds thoughts. could it be the compressor, any suggestions???

Did this happen with A/C on?
If so my guess is a bad compressor, does alt. spin by hand now that belt is off, if so then either the compressor is bad or there is a restriction in A/C system.
Does A/C clutch idler pulley spin freely now that belt is off? 94
