Default Recaro re-upholstering

Want to buy some JDM Recaros for my EK but all the ones I see have really beat looking suede. I wouldn't mind buying them that way if I could get the seats re-done. Anybody ever done this? I'm in Baltimore, if anyone knows anybody out this way. Advice is appreciated. Thanks!

For the cost of re-upholstering a nice set of seats such as Recaro professionally, even if you got a set for $500, it would likely still be about the same price to just get a brand new set of some Brides or Buddy Club/Corsport.

Just something to look into. Reupholstering is not cheap.

Are you looking for the OEM JDM Recaros specifically?

If not, Recaro makes a similar version call the Speed. You can probably find a nicer used set of those for $1100-1800. They'll have the Recaro name larger and on the headrest instead of smaller and below it. Other than that they're identical to the JDM version.

New they're $990-1090 a seat depending on the fabric, but that doesn't include seat rails.

This guy is an H-T member. Unfortunately, it looks like he sold his set.

Keep an eye out though, clean sets do show up occasionally.

Just did this a few years back. Purchased my JDM ITR Recaros (used and needed some TLC), and found new foam for the seats on eBay. Had an upholstery shop install the new foam and ended up buying a few feet of black swede to finish them. Think the labor was the most expensive part. Well worth it. There is Recaro seat specific foam out there you can get a hold of. Just have to look.
