Im wondering what process I would need to go through to build the 2008 Honda Civic LX R18 motor with Si parts. If that is even possible. I am new to honda, building, and swapping so I dont know where to start or how to go about this.

 

What would make you think this is possible ?

 

Nothing actually just wondering whether or not I can even build it since its basically the motor thats been swept under the rug for mods

 

Any engine can be built in theory. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be. The K series and R series are two VERY different animals and are in no way compatible. So to answer your first question, no you can not build an R with K parts. You can swap all higher performance parts from the SI including engine and trans but it would be cheaper to buy a real SI and add LX bumpers, deck lid, and steelies if you want a sleeper.

Can your R18 be built? If you have deep pockets and/or serious fabricating and machining skill. Does that mean you should? The only reason I can think of is to be able to say that you actually did it...
