2000 Honda Accord v6
The battery, alternator, spark plus and all 6 coils are in good condition. When I start the car, it shuts off, it will not stay running. The radio comes on, etc. If I wait a few mins it will start and stay running. What could it be???
Could be the infamous honda main relay issue. You could try swapping it out for a new one. You could also get a fuel pressure tester from Harbor Freight for $20 and hook it up to see if it's getting fuel and staying on.
Ditto the above, the PGM-FI Main Relay is a common problem on older Honda/Acura, simple test is to just listen, turn ign. switch to run, [not all the way to start] you should be able to hear the fuel pump priming, it will run for no more then a few sec. and then stop, at the same time as you turn on the ign. the CEL will turn on and at the same time the fuel pump stops priming the CEL will go out
If the above is not happening the PGM-FI Main Relay is most likely the problem and it is an easy fix in most cases ... Main Relay Fix and Troubleshooting (Honda, Acura) 94
