Icon5 2006 Honda Civic Si - K20 Swap

Hello, I am new to this forum! I have two SI's one was stolen and had the motor dropped, the other one was bought wrecked in the back, motor is flawless, so my plan is to swap it into the stolen one. However, the stolen civic did not have key with it. What do I need to do in order to get a key for the vehicle? I have a key for the one that has the motor though. Is it possible to switch computers and the key work in the stolen vehicle?

Thanks for your time!

You just need a mobile locksmith with an HDS to come down and program the key to the ecu.

Would he program the key that came with the wrecked vehicle, to the stolen vehicles ECU?

If you have the key from the wrecked one then replace the Key cylinder lock on the steering wheel along with the immobilizer and ecu from the wrecked one. After take the car to the dealer so they can program the right vin# into the ecu and get the remote fob to work with the locks.
Oh and also replace the key cylinder on the door.

You can program any key to work with any ecu. Don't go to the dealer they will charge an arm and a leg. Just call around and find a mobile locksmith with an HDS. Best to use Yelp.

I think I'll probably go with holmesnmanny suggestion! Key cylinders, immobilizer, and ecu!

Appreciate the responses! Thanks!

The dealership isn't always more expensive. I actually found them to be cheaper than locksmiths (and a decent price overall)

I agree with you , Not always locksmith are cheap and not always dealers are costly.
