Hi I did a y8 swap on my eg. It had a d16z6 before it got a rod knock. I was able to start the car but it will run for a few minutes then it will shut off, if I give it gas it would do the same thing.if any body could give me some info on this swap it would be helpful

 

more info on your end. what y8 parts are on the motor and what z6?

 

Z6 transmission
B18 injectors

Had to change the alternator because of obd1.
I used the same intake on the y8
And that's about it

 

Are you throwing a check engine light?

 

distributor?

 

it was the ground on the thermal stat housing
