Default 95 accord lx transmission problem

Hey all i got a 95 accord lx manual transmission and just recently when driving it sounds as if something is grinding or dragging and will only stop making that noise if i hold clutch in but when i let out would start again. Then it was getting alittle hard to put in gear and randomly it felt as if someone slammed on the brakes now it wont go into gear at all and when in neutral i have to hold the clutch in to keep the car on if not it jump and turn off so car will not move but motor if fine. Someone had said maybe the gear selector. Any advice and help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a bad throwout bearing/clutch

the high pitch whining/grinding noise is a sign that the throwout bearing is done for

If it's making a sound when the clutch pedal is not pushed in that's a sign the input shaft bearing is going bad. If you are having problems getting it to go into gear it's possible that you have a master cylinder leak. I would check the fluid level. If it's low then you have a leak. Find leak, fix leak, bleed the clutch system. If you don't have a leak then it's possible your clutch is going bad, specifically the pressure plate is giving out. Exedy makes the best clutch kits. When you pull the tranny to replace the clutch you can either crack open the tranny and have the input shaft bearing replaced by a shop or you can try to do it yourself. It's not ridiculously hard, there are howto's on youtube, normally for d series trannies but it's around the same for f series trannies as well. If you're not too mechanically inclined you'd want to have a shop do it.
