HOnda overheat/ electrical issue
I recently replaced the clutch on my 99 accord lx and today I ran into a issue when I just left my destination but when I step on the gas the car begins to overheat. When I let off the has the car immediately returns to normal temp... with that being said I quickly pulled over turned the car off and it didn't turn back on. The starter wasn't cranking or anything. I checked connections and levels and everything seemed fine. Could it just be possible battery? Seemed pretty dated.
the thing is, changing out your clutch shouldn't have anything to do with an overheating issue. unless there is a bind somewhere between your drive train and motor. which i highly doubt. Plus its a manual so there alot more gears and mechanical components involved than automatic trans. Auto trans use clutch plates n fluid with torque converter n flex plate to send power to wheels. while manual uses flywheel and gears. With what your saying if starter isn't cracking and your car is starting your best best is to load test the battery and check if battery is good. You can do this at your local auto arts store like autozone oriley etc. Next if your battery good then check your starter next. your can test starter as well at local auto part store and they do this all for free.
