Hi. I'm stuck on which one to go for right now. The engine is gonna go into a civic dx coupe. I have enough for either and want to get the motor in before it gets any colder up here in MN. I also want to know what the people with these motors think of it... My goal is a low 14s car. Thanks

 

If you go B16, i'd go turbo or NA. If you are doing B18B, best option would be to boost it.

 

Go B16B then drop a GSR or ITR crank, then get ur high compression pistons for all motor or lower for boost... Then you got a little B16 block that is a 1.8 hehe... If I had that block I would drop an ITR crank in it have GE sleeve it to 83mm and boost it..

I'm sort of thinking about boost later on.. Can the b16 handle boost that well compare to the b18b? The only thing I really want from the b16 is the big o'Dohc VTEC on the valve cover... I don't know it just screams bad ***. Is there a difference in installation since the b16a are from 92-95 civic's over in jdm land? Thanks..
