Default Abs light after wheel bearing replacement

2006
CRV AWD

Hello
Changed both bearings on mom's car, after putting back together got ABS light.

Both bearings installed with brown ring in correct position (toward car)
Tried to remove both left and right side ABS sensors to take hub out and wound out just disconnecting from harness as they were corroded in place.
I do not believe I damaged them

What I do know I did wrong and could very likely be the problem.
When pressing in the 1st bearing using a front end bearing press (harbour freight) I had used wrong size disk to press in bearing.
In the back of hub I had disk (from press) inserted to hold at hub but not touching bearing.
This forced bearing a little further back at inner race. It slightly chewed up the brown indicator ring when I spun bearing by hand.
Bearing felt fine, turned fine etc. I didn't think I damaged the bearing mechanically.
When i did the 2nd bearing I learned from mistake and that went in correctly.
I don't know if there is a way to test without a scanner that reads ABS. I can pull this bearing out and put another in. But I'm not sure that is the problem.

Drove car and car drove fine.
ABS cam on immediately while backing out then went off immediately when put into drive, 300' later light back on

Thanks in advance
Greg

from the diagrams of honda parts website, it shows the abs pick up isnt the hub bearing style, it is on the axle there is a ring gear, and that is what from my understanding to begin with on most honda. only thing i can think of maybe you didnt plug it back in properly .. or the sensor went bad some how .

I have made the mistake of not releasing the clip on the sensor wire when pulling the axle out of the hub. It pulled on the wire and internally broke it. It wasn't visible but caused an open in the circuit. May or may not be your problem, but definitely something to consider.

I replaced the bearing that I thought was giving me the problem.
Replaced both front abs sensors with THIS one.
Now I get an 84-01 code.

Tried jumping pins 4 and 9 and going through reset procedure.
Not working for me it seems.
In step 6 ("wait for 2 flashes of ABS light") I get 3 flashes.

Any advice would be great on any steps i should go through.

I rented a scan tool that reads ABS from Autozone. I can clear code buts comes right back.

Thanks
