So, cars been sitting for more then a year, put a charged battery in it, newer ngk iridium spark plugs, plug wires are relatively new, put a few dollars worth of new gas in it, switched the main relay from my other car, put newer ground cables in, etc. Checked to see if its getting spark, it is. Checked to see if its getting fuel pressure by loosening the fuel filter and turning the ignition to on, it splurt out fuel for a few seconds. SO, I'm stumped. It will crank and crank and crank then kind of almost start then it cranks rougher and the car kinda shakes and I can smell a bit of fuel. Anyone have any idea?! Please help!
Timing seems to be in check. Just pulled a spark plug, it looked wet and smelled like fuel. Is it flooded? I'm so stumped. My other car just died on me too so I'm really trying to get this one running.
Motor is at TDC as far as I know, I rotated the crankshaft pulley when I was outside last. But what do I do since the sparkplug was wet and smelled like fuel? I've been messing with this car for weeks.
Maybe I don't have the timing perfect. Going to sound like a noob here but how do I get the timing to where its supposed to be? Is there marks that I have to line up? If so where? Thank you!
Okay here soon I'm going to go out and make sure it is at tdc. If not I'll set it up right and take a picture! And yes, stock D16Y7. Wish it was something better, just need to get it running so it doesn't have to sit through a nasty Canadian winter!
The lower timing belt cover has a pointer like the site of a gun that should align with the lone white mark on the crank pulley at TDC1. I can't see the pointer in your picture.
