98 Prelude with P5M and immobilizer question
Working on a 98 Prelude (base) with a no start issue. After doing testing the service manual says to replace ECU.
question I have is. With the P5M ECU, do I have to do anything with the Immobilizer? I am reading that the immoblizer, ECU and key all have to have the same programming. looking over the wiring diagram it only seems that there is one signal wire in between the immobilizer control unit and the ECU. When I tested it, it seemed to send like ~5 volts to ECU.
so is there really key information on the ECU? it seems that if I just replaced the ECU, the immobilizer should still send a "good key" signal to the ECU and start the car?
Am I wrong? If so, what are my options? is there a reliable P5M immobilizer bypass? is there a different ECU that also runs the H22A4?
thanks in advance!
