Did i burn out my clutch or ruin a component of the clutch 96 integra LS
So last night In my 1996 Acura Integra LS. I was coming from the gas station and I got in the left turning lane. When it turned green, there was this person behind riding my tail, so I tried going faster shifting from 1st to 2nd then 3rd and then 4th and when I tried shifting into 5th gear, The gear jammed and started making a squealing noise that got louder. so I turned on my hazards kept pushing the clutch in while I threw it back into netural and coasted to the side of the road (while the guy behind me honked at me and took off smh). Then I parked the car and I noticed a bad burning smell and the Squealing got louder when I pushed on the clutch. I got it towed home and I started it up, and the car still moves and drives. I actually drove and parked the car on the street, But it did the squealing and burning smell again. But it still moved and was still driving. I drove it around the block the next day and got it to 3rd gear (since I'm in a residential area) and it drives fine only that every time I press the clutch in to change gears the squealing (almost grinding noise) happens. so what does that mean? any input helps thanks
Ditto the above^^^ most likely the TO bearing, [if you only hear the "squealing" when stepping on clutch].
I also agree, because you have to pull the transmission to replace the TO bearing, it's a good time to replace the clutch and resurface the fly wheel. 94

Does the transmission smoke with the throwout bearing problem?

Have you check your fluid level lately? Did you go with an OEM or cheap aftermarket clutch? Was it properly installed? Are your shifter bushings bad?
