1991 CRX B18 Swap, Electric issues...
Hey everyone, I have a 1991 crx with the b18/b16 vtec swap... So I have to go to drill if you guys want to leave ideas I'll try them and report back next week so here is the problem.
Problem: My car was running a-ok after I rebuilt it for about a year, it died in my driveway (I believe it was running too, its been sitting a while now...). Anyway I got a code for a map sensor, replaced it and no luck. I just replaced the starter (not reman but new) and ignition switch, nothing. The starter will not engage when I turn the key...(wait for it this gets really weird)... and when I turn it off the turn signal lights/oil pressure/brake light/ stay on but very dim (odd)... Also, when I turn my lights on in an attempt to just see whats not working, the headlights will not turn on but all the dummy lights turn on bright, and something clicks in my door (idk what I don't have power locks or windows) and so now I'm thinking I have a ground that corroded somewhere... No codes coming from the computer either (obd0, flashy light)... I don't think I heard the fuel pump priming when I turned the key on...
Note: I personally didn't do the engine swap I bought the car but had to do a bottom up rebuild because the bastard lied to me and the crank went out... But when I finished the car it ran AWESOME and fast and pretty powerful, I replaced the main relay once as well, and I put grounds on EVERYTHING (Car was running fine at this point with all the grounds so its not that) I touched wiring as little as possible because its really bad in my opinion but it worked, I intend to reduce down the wiring to bare essential to whats needed to run eventually.
Specs: B18a1 block, B16a1 dohc head, 5 speed ys1 trans, pr3 computer (I think? I cant remember and its late...) shitty wiring job from previous owner, new fuel pump, fuel tank, sending unit, forged rods, crank, pistons, port n' polished head, stainless steel exhaust 4-2-1

Sounds like you have a grounding problem.
Anytime one circuit has an effect on another unrelated circuit, [head lights and dummy lights] it is almost always a grounding problem, so start with the main grounds, batt. to chassis and chassis to engine, DO NOT just eyeball them, disconnect/clean/reconnect, a "tight" ground does not necessarily mean a good ground. 94
