my integra rpm has been acting really ackward, the other day i was on 3rd gear and rpm was around 4k when all of a sudden my rpm drop to under 1k and jump right back onto 4k, it was really quick and yes when that happen my car did feel like i downshifted and slowed down drastically. it did it only that time that day in a 2 hour drive. fast forward two days later and it did it again and when i got to the stop light the car shut off, it didnt have any hesitation when it shut off i literally got to the light, the car went to reagular iddle position and after like 1 min it shut off has if i would turn the key off.

I turned it back on and went on my way, i ddid take about 3 tries and i did smell fuel when i was trying to start it. now if i turn my car on and rev it while just still, if i go over 4k , the rpm will have random drops too.

any ideas guys what map be causing this? i change the spark plugs, map sensor and main relay but it has not stop the symptoms.

 

Check ICM, [igniter] it will effect spark and your tachometer. 94

 

It's likely the distributor or the coil inside
