Default 4x114.3 hub conversion

Hey guys, I have a question. Long story short I've been out of the car scene for a while and am finally getting back to my neglected EF chassis (four of them). I just overhauled the suspension on my sedan and got to thinking about wheels. I have a set that are 4x114.3 I would like to use and want know if there is a way to convert hubs to that size? I've done some research and haven't found anything conclusive.

Would be best to just get adapters. They are pretty cheap but the only thing you have to beware is the offset. But to answer your question specifically I've never seen an ef with a 4x114.3 conversion. The money that would be spent trying to do it would be better spent on adapters but if you want something different do some research and give it a try. Maybe you can find a way to put the old accord hubs in an ex knuckle with custom wheel bearings idk lol.

96 specific ITR hubs or full knuckles/trailing arms for simplicity.

i heard about using integral knuckles but I heard that it causes major caster? Is that true?

I'm trying everything I can to avoid using adapters. The wheels are a set of SSR Longchamp XR-C in 15x7 +12 and would look a little goofy spaced out that far since I would have to add camber for them to clear.

That's what I've heard as well. I'm wondering if there are hubs that could be pressed into the EF hubs or machined to fit? My car is a '90 EX, so it has the "bigger" brake/knuckle setup

With my experience the 90-91 EX hub has a bigger diameter (more material) so if you want you can try to have the holes added to press in new studs for 4x114.3 but I'd only do this with a reputable machine shop. The rears are different and have material removed in between the studs so not sure if you can do a fill and drill with it (I woudn't). You can also order just the rear 96 ITR hubs separately as well although I don't know how the availability of the hubs are anymore plus you'll have to research the axle nut issue. Doing a rear trailing arm swap to the 96 ITR rears would eliminate the rear issue if you can find the set up.

Alternatively you might want to look into having your rims redrilled to 4x100.

yeah the rears can be a full trailing arm swap.
iirc you can get a shop to machine the 96 itr hubs down to same diameter as the hubs youre removing and then press them into the ef knuckles.
its been a while since ive looked into it all though.

EE2bitsk is correct. That is the only way to do it without messing up the front camber and UCA to LCA geometery.

The EF hatch I sold last summer was 4x114.3 for the benefit of old school wheels choices. I was running SSR MK1 in a +18 offset on 6.5" barrels. Thr tricky part was caliper clearance since older-school cars typically had smaller brakes the DC2 calipers would have hit the back of the faces wothout a 10mm spacer. That effectively put them at a +8 on the front. The rears cleared without issues or spacers.

I think I'm going to look into getting the wheels re-drilled. Since the pattern diameter will be smaller than what the wheels have, it should be doable and will still retain the 4x114.3 pattern. It seems like the easiest and cheapest solution, plus less of a headache. Does anyone know of a reputable shop on the west coast (I'm in AZ) that can do this? I've found a couple but can't find any reviews on their services.

Back to the drawing board... There's not enough room or material to change the bolt pattern. I'm going to start trying to get my hands on some hubs and see what I can come up with.

Thanks man. I bought them 3-4 years ago and have sat ever since. The plan was to re-barrel them and run adapters, but now I was to do it a little more "legit". I'll update if I can come up with some decent way to make everything work. I'm open to more suggestions if anyone has anything.

Certain shops "fill and drill" while others oblong the existing holes.

That can't be filled and drilled

looks like you're only options are deal with the poke of adapters or go with integra hubs somehow.

Integra hubs are still 4x100. Hopefully I can figure something out though.

the US ones are. There is a trim model of integra with 4x114 I believe it was the type r that was overseas? I could be wrong though.

EDIT: It was the 96 JDM ITR. Factory 4x114.3

That's odd it's just that year. Well I guess that solves the issue for the rear. Now I'll worry about the finding something that works for the front.

I guess this went completely over your head then as I brought this up early on.

You are correct, sir. I stumbled on a writeup similar to what I'm trying to accomplish. Same concept, but this guy was doing it with 5x114 ITR hubs/wheels.

Looks like I have found the solution. Now I just need to pony up the cash and find a set of '96 ITR trailing arms and hubs. I'll let you guys know how it turns out (whenever I get do get around to it). Thank you everyone for your input.
