Have cash to buy a better transmission setup for it and I would like some advice on beefing up the front suspension. I bought the Innovative Mounts front traction bar but I havent put it on yet. It has some sort of coilovers on it already. I would just like to know that my front drive suspension can handle the power its putting out. Any advice on what trans to put on it and something to beef up the front? Thanks.

 

What brand suspension do you know? I love my KYB GR-2/GC set up. It's stiffer than most setups but it hugs the road. Especially on my Toyo Proxes.

 

Im not sure what is on there, but it is pretty stiff. Im thinking the rest of the stock suspension up there cant handle stiff ride and 3 times the original HP.

 

If you're unsure what suspension is on there then that should be addressed first. Even stock suspension in working condition can handle the b20v setup. You'll have a lot of body roll but it will work just fine. I've seen some seriously rough suspension setups on a handful of B swapped cars and they were still driving them daily.

 

I dont want stock and Im asking so I know what is a good setup. I dont want body roll. I want the suspension able to easily handle what Im doing on the road.

 

There is no answer for your question due to the fact that everyone has a different vision of what they want. There are so many combinations of suspension pieces out there that YOU need to make the decision as to what suits YOU.. There are many schools of thought as to what works best with these chassis, however you must remember that these cars are NOT race cars and without a lot of money and time they are best suited to be what they are, fun to drive cars. If an ultimate car is what you are looking for then seam weld the body, add stiff sway bars, proper bracing to add stiffness, good shocks(pick one, there are many options out there), don't slam the car on the ground in an effort to improve driveability it will cause a multitude of issues you don't need, finally springs (which ones YOU might find that does what you want without ripping the suspension mounting points out of the chassis). There are too any options for someone else to choose what to do to YOUR car. This is why there is no right or perfect setup, too many choices. The final issue is do you want to spend $10,000 or $500.00. Simply research what others have done in the past and ask questions. Use gooogle, make a choice for yourself. Good luck on your journey, it can be satisfying to do it yourself. The only thing I have to add is, do not buy cheap bs parts there are quality parts to be had, be wise in your choices.

Budget of 2000, only suspension parts. Anyone have a parts lists?

Is an X-brace behind the backseat worth it? Should I go with Skunk2 front camber? How much vibration does a bushing job cut down typically?

 

Xbrace is the same as having regular strut bars for the most part. More for visual.

Skunk2 and hardrace are most reputable for UCAs

Depends on how stiff your bushings are. Too hard could make it worse

 

Nice thanks. Ordered the Skunk2 UCA. The ride is definitely stiff. Every vibration comes through. I was just curious if I replaced the front suspension bearings if it would be easier on the car and less vibration running through.

 

The harder the bushings, the more vibrations they transmit.
