Looking to purchase a Honda Civic Si
Hey guys! I'm a new member here and just thought I would start a thread to get some insight in my purchase. I'm looking to purchase a Honda Civic Si in this year range, with a max price of $12k for a daily driver. The reason I'm looking into one is that I want something fun but reliable as a daily driver, with good aftermarket support for modifications. Coming from the world of German cars, I'm sure this should be much more reliable but still be fun. After searching around, it seems like the Civic Si would fit the bill quite nicely. I just have a couple questions for the community here:
1.) What problems/issues should I look for when purchasing a used Civic Si?
2.) Are there any common problems that creep up after 100k miles?
3.) How much does a typical maintenance and repair cost on these cars?
4.) Are they easy to work on?

06-11 Si
2nd 3rd gear synchro issues..
Clear coat fading, peeling certain colors
Pretty reliable engine, revs to the moon
Engine bay is small and crammed..
Premium gas required, but if you are not poor you should be fine.
Good mpg, decent performance.
Limited slip differential
Suspension a bit harsh.

Yup.. Usually 2nd and 3rd synchros start to show problems at high rpm shifts, then at lower rpms when it gets bad, you also get lots of notch and gear pop-outs. Oh and forgot to add that the OEM radio illumination lights tend to go out. I havent found a solution for that.
