MD FS: 2000 Civic SI - MD/DE area - Clean One Owner!
Hello all,
I am facilitating the sale of my co-workers all original, untouched EM1 Civic SI. She bought the car brand new in 2000 and has been the only owner of the car since. It has 215k original miles. Overall, the car is in really good shape but of course has a few dings/dents and other misc small issues. I will try to point out the major points below. Please feel free to call or text(preferred) me to discuss the car in more detail. We are asking $ 4,500 OBO.
Greg - (302) 359-2518
Good:
- Paint and body are pretty good condition, nothing major
- No check engine lights/codes
- No rust at all from what I can find anywhere
- Mechanically sound, runs and drives great.
- Interior in very good condition (she was very clean)
- A/C works
Bad:
- exhaust has a good leak (separated from muffler completely towards rear of car).
- VTEC not engaging (This will be fixed in next couple of days. Car had a bad speed sensor, replaced and problem migrated to cluster, will be replacing with a spare).
- Rear bumper has a crack in it/beat up a bit.
- Paint chipping off valve cover
- Probably needs a radiator fan switch (Not confirmed yet, but it looks like fan isn't coming on, however this is hard to notice since its been quite cold here recently).

Man, tough crowd here today on Honda-Tech! I spent my time confirming that the car is fully mechanically sound and that the motor/trans are healthy, not making it pretty. Whoever buys can give her a good wash.

That is correct. The vehicle speed sensor plug had corroded terminals. I was able to bypass to get vtec to engage last night, but need a new plug to splice onto harness. barring any other gremlins that arise, car is good to go mechanically.
We are willing to negotiate, so feel free to throw out some offers, worst I can say is no.
Best,
Greg

Completely untrue. I am facilitating the sale for the owner who is a very close friend. I asked for this individuals information to give the owner a short brief prior to calling a random stranger. He refused to discuss any details with me. However, I still gave her the number to call him. I do not see how any of this is "Sketchy".
Will give the car a good wash this weekend. As I have stated time and time again throughout this post, my efforts have been exclusively spent on troubleshooting the mechanics and ensuring that the vehicle is in mechanically sound condition. "No Effort" is simply not true. The car will be washed thoroughly this weekend and pictures updated.
