Default 99-00 Civic Si Power Steering Pump - non OEM reman OK?

The power steering pump on my 99 Civic Si has a slow leak. I've always gotten genuine Honda parts for my car, but I'm wondering if it would be OK to save some money in this case. I haven't checked to see if my pump is an N or M, but they're either $248 or $277 for a remanufactured one directly from Honda. I've seen these at Rock Auto for $97 - $142, but they don't indicate if they're N or M. Does it matter? The only brand I recognize is AC Delco, which seems strange.

I'm concerned about compatibility because a title search on H-T for "power steering pump" brings up an unusual amount of WTB posts requesting a power steering pump for the 99-00 Civic Si.

buy used or rebuild. if it isnt growling, all it needs is a seal kit. simple job, and you get to keep your oe unit

Thank you, but I'm trying to have the least amount of down time possible and I don't want to buy used.

Can anyone tell me where and how big the indent marks are for pump identification? It's supposed to be on the side where the green circles are, but it's impossible to see. It looks like it could be an M in the red circle area, but that's not where it's supposed to be.

Looks like an M.

The seal kit is $11 on rockauto and shouldn't take more than an hour to install.

I don't have snap ring pliers or a proper work bench to take it apart. Should Cardone, Atsco or AC Delco be avoided? I just want to replace the old one and be done with it.
