Just bought a 1990 civic hatchback automatic as a little project car.

She runs good. Only 232k on her.

The only thing i am having Touble with is my pep when i give it gas.

I eill give it gas, and i will hear a click like the sound a bic lighter makes when you flick it...and then the car almost wants to stall, but doesnt. Just loses all HP and then goes a few seconds later but takes forever to get through 1st.

This inly happens at random times. Not always from a stand still. I could be in 3rd and doing 70k and all of a sudden i hear that click and it loses all power. Feels like the gas just stops flowing.

Suggestions? The timing was done back in July.

The distributor looks newish havent opened it up yet.

Bought a new fuel filter havent replaced it yet as i wanted some advice first.

I always hear that click sound when it happens.

Help please. Driving me nuts.
